Lake Fun

Madelyn and Baylor LOVE the water, no matter how warm or cold it is.  Here are some pics from this weekend’s adventures to Lake Jocassee and Table Rock…

Baylor: What am I doing?

  • I am rolling all around and thinking about crawling.  I get up on all fours and rock… and that’s about it.
  • I am saying “Ma Ma” when I need something or want out of the exersaucer or jump-up.
  • I still laugh at everything, such as, Madelyn hitting and bouncing a ball, Bella barking and playing with Daddy, Madelyn’s funny voices, etc.
  • I am eating mostly anything now.  Mommy is trying to get me to drink formula sometimes, but I prefer Mommy’s milk and I sure do let her know it.
  • I love playing on the floor with toys that light up and make noises.
  • I am smiling for the camera, unlike Madelyn.
  • I love to swing in my swing outside.
  • I have discovered how wonderful and entertaining it is to suck on my toes and I engage in this behavior pretty regularly.  I have even tried sucking on Madelyn’s toes, but Mommy said, “No, Yuck, Yuck,” but I sure didn’t think so.
  • I have learned and mastered the ‘make myself as stiff as a board’ motion which sure makes it hard for Mommy and Daddy to put me in the highchair, stroller, and car seat.
  • I love taking baths with Madelyn because she shows me how to have fun and splash and make a huge mess for Mommy to clean up.

Madelyn: What am I doing?

  • riding my tricycle around and around and around and backwards and forwards and around again.
  • finally riding my four wheeler and LOVING it.
  • going to see Jesus on Sundays (She thinks the nursery worker, an older man with white hair, is Jesus.)  She says, “Bye Jesus, see you tomorrow!” when we pick her up.
  • eating “black cereal” (Cocoa Krispies) all of the time. This is my food of the month.  The only one I will eat willingly, besides cupcakes, ice cream, and popsicles of coarse.
  • going down my new sliding board that Daddy made.
  • SWIMMING and loving it.  (By swimming she means jumping of the side of the pool close to 150 times while Mommy or some other sucker catches her.)  I have also taken an interest in foosball.  Mommy pulls up a chair so I can play.
  • playing “BIG BALL GAME” with Daddy.  I am really good at hitting the ball of Daddy’s tee/hand.
  • I love to tell people what they are not supposed to say.  For example, “Mommy, Don’t say Oh Shoot” and “Baylor, Don’t say Oh My Gosh”  This allows me to inadvertently say words that Mommy and Daddy don’t want me to say.  I am so smart Smile I also add these phrases into my songs like subliminal messaging, for example, “Ba Ba Black Sheep, have you and wool?  Oh my Gosh!  Yes sir, yes sir, three bags full.)
  • I still have ZERO interest in using the big girl potty, but I am continually fascinated by poop.  I even picked up Baylor’s poop once and threw it at the fireplace glass.  Mommy was not happy.
  • I love ballet class because I run around and twirl and spin and jump although not always when I am supposed to.
  • I refuse to give up my paci.  And even if Mommy and Daddy take it away, I can just pull one out of Baylor’s mouth.  I know this because I have done it before, several times.
  • I am having a really fun summer playing with Baylor, Mommy, and Daddy when he gets to come home.

Summer fun in Pennsylvania

We ventured up north during the July 4th week to visit family in Pennsylvania.  We had a wonderful time.  Baylor got to meet several relatives for the first time.  We enjoyed swimming, fishing, playing cards, roasting marshmallows, slip-sliding, licking ice cream cones and popsicles, playing cards, attending a Pirates game, whiffle ball games, ladder ball and horseshoes, riding carnival rides, relaxing in Grandma Dodd’s back yard (the best backyard EVER), and partaking in some great conversation.  Here are some pics from the trip…
